How do I set my format as the default for all new scripts?

If you have customized your script format, you can set it as the default format for all new scripts.

1. Open a script with your customized format.
2. Click Format > Element Styles.
3. On the bottom right, check the Save as Default for All New Scripts box.
4. Click OK.

You should get a confirmation that the defaults were saved. Test it out on a new script (File > New) to be sure.

Saving a customized script format.

Once you have customized your script or novel format, you can save that to use later in other scripts.

1. Open the file that has the customized format.
2. Click File > Save As Template.
3. A Save dialog box will appear. Give the new format a name and click Save.

To use this format in another file:

1. Open an existing or new file.
2. Click Format > Load Styles from > Screenwriter Document (or Template).
3. Select the document or template and click Open.
4. A window will display asking to load User Lists. Click Yes if you have not edited your user lists or are not sure.
5. A window will display asking to confirm the change in margins. Click Yes.

Your file will now be in the user defined format.
