If you have customized your script format, you can set it as the default format for all new scripts.
- Open a script with your customized format.
- Click Format > Element Styles.
- On the bottom right, check the Save as Default for All New Scripts box.
- Click OK.
You should get a confirmation that the defaults were saved. Test it out on a new script (File > New) to be sure.
Saving a customized script format.
Once you have customized your script or novel format, you can save that to use later in other scripts.
- Open the file that has the customized format.
- Click File > Save As Template.
- A Save dialog box will appear. Give the new format a name and click Save.
To use this format in another file:
- Open an existing or new file.
- Click Format > Load Styles from > Screenwriter Document (or Template).
- Select the document or template and click Open.
- A window will display asking to load User Lists. Click Yes if you have not edited your user lists or are not sure.
- A window will display asking to confirm the change in margins. Click Yes.
Your file will now be in the user defined format.

- Click Format > Edit Script Formats.
- On the bottom right, check the Save as Default for All New Scripts box.
- Click OK.
