When I try to open Screenwriter 2000 (4.x) it stops at 27% and says "Failed to set data for SYSEXT01.”

This happens when the program is incorrectly set to run in Compatibility Mode.

Right click Screenwriter icon.
Click Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Uncheck ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for:’.
Click OK and launch the program again.
