Because of the new features in Screenwriter 6, it was necessary to change the file format of the documents that are saved. For this reason, Screenwriter 2000/4.x and older cannot directly open .MMSW files.
To e-mail your script in the older (.SCW) format:
- Open your document.
- Click on File > Send as E-mail Attachment.
- Choose "SCW - Pre-Screenwriter 6.0 Format". Macintosh users: choose the e-mail program with which to send the file. Windows users: your default e-mail program will automatically be chosen.
- Click OK. Windows users: you will be prompted to save the .SCW file before the e-mail with the attachment will open up. Macintosh users: the file will automatically be saved in a temporary folder.
Screenwriter will attempt to open your e-mail program and create a new e-mail message with the .SCW file attached to it. Now all you have to do is fill out the e-mail and send it off.
If you prefer, you can also export your document (without e-mailing) under File > Export to > Screenwriter 4.x and 2000.
