Upgrading from Screenwriter 2000/4.x or Earlier

Upgrades may be purchased at Screenplay.com. If you have difficulty upgrading after following the step by step directions below, please contact Contact Customer Service / Sales and they will help process your upgrade.

The upgrade includes a Screenwriter 6.0 serial number for Windows users and a Screenwriter 6.5 / 6.7 serial number for Mac users. (Note: The Screenwriter 6.5 is compatible with MacOS 10.10 - 10.14, and Screenwriter 6.7 is compatible with MacOS 10.15 and higher including the new Apple M computer chips.)

Here are the steps to buy the upgrade:

• Go to Screenplay.com
• Go to the upgrade page:
  https://screenplay.com/collections/movie-magic-screenwriter/products/movie-magic-screenwriter-6-upgrade-download-mac-windows
• Enter 1 for the Qty (Quantity)
• Enter your Screenwriter 2000/4.x serial number
• Press Add to Cart
• Complete any info if needed
• Proceed with payment information
• Confirm
• You'll be sent a receipt with the download link, and a separate email with your new serial number
• WINDOWS USERS:
  • Download the Software from the following link
    LINK:  Download and Install Movie Magic Screenwriter 6 (2022) for Windows - WMM6
  • Install the software from the link above
  • Run the Screenwriter 6 software and choose internet activation.
  • Use your Screenwriter 6 serial number, which begins with SCW0600, to activate your software.
• MAC USERS:
  • Download the Software from the following link
    • For users on Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, Sonoma, or higher:
      LINK:  Download and Install the current 64bit Screenwriter 6.7 Release
    • For users on MacOS 10.10 thru 10.14 (Mojave)
      LINK:  Download, Install & Activate Screenwriter 6.5 for Macintosh
  • Follow the directions in the link above to install the software
  • Create a new account to register and activate your software.
• Once you're done, the Screenwriter 6 or 6.5 / 6.7 will be up and running
