If you have run into errors creating documents in Mac Screenwriter 6.7, or problems launching Screenwriter, the problem's likely cause is that Screenwriter needs to be added to the Catalina's system Privacy list. To do this:
- Open the Mac's System Preferences
- Click on the Security & Privacy icon
- Click on the Privacy tab
- If it is not already selected, click on "Full Disk Access" in the scrolling list on the left
- If the preferences are locked, unlock them by clicking on the padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preferences window and entering your Mac password where prompted, followed by a click on the OK button
- Click on the + symbol to add a new item to the list
- Navigate to the Applications folder
- Open the Screenwriter 6.7 folder
- Click on the "Screenwriter" app
- Click Open
- Screenwriter should now be on the Full Disk Access list
- Re-lock the preferences by single-clicking on the padlock icon
- Restart Screenwriter and you should be good to go
