Mac Screenwriter 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3 are not Sierra-compatible

There are a few Sierra-incompatible versions of Mac Screenwriter 6 (v6.1-v6.3).  We recommend you re-download and install Screenwriter 6.0.10.165, which is Sierra-compatible.  

To install the 6.0.10.165 Sierra-compatible version of Movie Magic Screenwriter 6, you MUST throw the 6.3 Screenwriter app in the trash BEFORE installing 6.0.10.165. The 6.0.10.165 installer will not install over newer versions of the software, e.g. 6.2 or 6.3.

Here are the steps to remove and replace it.

1. Open your Applications folder
2. Right-click on the Screenwriter 6 folder
3. Select Move to Trash
4. Right-click on the Trash icon and select Empty Trash
5. Open your Downloads folder
6. Show the items in a list
7. Sort the window alphabetically
8. Right-click on the MovieMagicScreewriter6.dmg file
9. Select Move to Trash
10. DOWNLOAD MAC SCREENWWRITER 6.0.10.165
11. In your downloads folder, double-click on MovieMagicScreenwriter610165.dmg
12. Follow the directions to install the software.
13. After you have installed the software, go to your Applications folder.
14. Open the Screenwriter 6 folder.
15. Right-click on the Screenwriter 6 app and do a Get Info. The version should now say 6.0.10.165 .  If it does not, you likely skipped one of the steps above.

ALTERNATIVE OPTION:  Upgrade to Mac Screenwriter 6.5.
