In order to use the new "WMM6" (modern) activations for Windows Screenwriter, you need to be running a 64-bit version of Windows.
Most versions of Windows 10 and all versions of Windows 11 are "64-bit operating systems", which are capable of running EITHER 32-bit software (like Movie Magic Screenwriter 6), or 64-bit software.
However, some old versions of Windows 10 that haven't been upgraded, and some versions of Windows 8.x and Windows 7, might be configured to be 32-bit. To determine what you have:
In your Windows file Explorer, right click on "This PC", then select "Properties". You should get a window that will have something like this:
If your system type says "32-bit operating system", you MUST run the older Screenwriter 6 that requests manual activation. That installer is here:
If your system type says "64-bit operating system", then we strongly advise getting a free WMM6 serial number from us to replace your old SCRW0600-prefixed serial number, and using the newer installers from here:
